That’s why we built our 400V radiators to mirror Krones specs exactly. We want that heat profile to stay flat across the entire oven, no surprises.
The Truth About 400V Power
Here is the thing about running a 400V system: it lets you push higher wattage without spiking the current. But if you drop in a lamp that doesn’t hit the original wattage and voltage marks, you’re asking for trouble. You’ll end up with “cold spots” or “hot spots” in your oven. It sounds minor, but if your wattage is off by even 5%, you’ll see it immediately in your scrap rate. We spec our radiators for total consistency. From the first lamp to the last, the energy density stays the same. It just works.
The Gear Inside
We use high-purity quartz glass and a specific coating to focus shortwave radiation. The goal is to get the heat into the PET material, not just bake the surface. Plus, we use standard R7s or Sk15 connectors. You can just wire them in. No need to rip apart your housing or get creative with the installation. One quick warning, though. The coating is tough, but the quartz is picky.**Do not touch the glass with your bare hands.**The oils from your skin create a stress point that will blow the lamp way before its time. Use gloves.
Making it Work in Your Shop
These are drop-in replacements for Krones-style setups. They handle a lot of heat density, which means your oven’s ventilation has to keep up. Check your cooling fans. If they’re clogged with dust, the ambient heat builds up and kills your lamps faster. Keep them clean, keep your power locked at the 400V spec, and you’ll get stable stretching and way fewer rejects.
