What matters, technically
These lamps run short-wave infrared with high-purity quartz tubes, chosen for snap response and stable output, cycle after thermal cycle. Each emitter is rated for consistent watt density, matched to the Sidel heating zone geometry so you get even heat distribution without hot spots. Standard R7s connectors and precise dimensions mean the lamp drops straight into Sidel oven assemblies—no bracket mods, no rewiring the zone. The optics and reflector layout are tuned to concentrate energy on the preform neck and body, which boosts heating efficiency and cuts warm-up time.
Why it holds up on the line
In stretch blow molding, the preform has to hit the right temperature profile before the blow step—any drift shows up as defects. Sidel-matched infrared lamps stabilize zone temperature quickly, so cycle recovery is faster and bottle weight stays consistent. The payoff is fewer rejects, less downtime spent chasing temperature, and lower energy per thousand bottles because the heat is focused where it counts.
The details that keep you out of trouble
Installation is straightforward when the oven zone is clean and the lamp seats true, but dust or PET residue fouling the reflector will skew the heating pattern. Tie lamp inspections to your oven maintenance schedule, and double-check voltage and connector compatibility for your specific Sidel blow molder model. A mismatched emitter might look fine at first, but it will cost you in quality stability and lamp life.
