We built our infrared heating tubes to kill that lag. They hit your target temp in seconds, even if your controllers are flipping the power on and off like a light switch.
Why it actually works
Most heating elements are just big chunks of metal that take forever to warm up and even longer to cool down. It’s slow. We do things differently. We use short-wave infrared with a halogen-filled quartz envelope. Think of it like a flashbulb—the filament hits peak heat almost the instant you flip the switch. Instead of waiting for the air to get hot, the energy beams straight onto the food. No waiting. No guessing.
Built for the grind
If you use cheap filaments and cycle the power constantly, they’ll burn out. Period. That’s why we use high-purity quartz and beefed-up electrodes. They can handle the “thermal shock”—that constant expanding and contracting—without cracking. When you pair these with a PID controller, you can tweak the heat in real-time. It stops that frustrating “overshoot” where the oven gets too hot, scorching the outside of your product while the middle stays raw.
A couple of things to keep in mind
You can drop these right into most standard deck oven footprints. It’s a simple swap. But here’s the catch: these things put out a massive amount of energy very quickly. You need to make sure your ventilation is up to the task. If the air isn’t moving, that heat can soak into the oven chassis and fry your sensors.
