They work great for a season, and then—&lt;em&gt;pop&lt;/em&gt;—they&amp;rsquo;re dead. Usually, it&amp;rsquo;s the same story: moisture sneaks into the electrical terminals or the housing, causes a short, and turns your expensive equipment into a paperweight. Or worse, condensation builds up on the element, causing a thermal shock that just snaps the thing.&#xA;We got tired of seeing that happen. So, we built our units to be IP66 rated.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;What does that actually mean for you?&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;Basically, it means the unit is tight. We use precision-molded gaskets and sealed cable entries so that high-pressure water jets or heavy rain can&amp;rsquo;t touch the live wires.&#xA;We also dealt with the &amp;ldquo;foggy lens&amp;rdquo; problem. You know when a heater gets a film of moisture on the glass and the heat just doesn&amp;rsquo;t feel as strong? That&amp;rsquo;s because the condensation is scattering the infrared rays. We added an anti-fogging design to the lens to keep the heat focused right where you need it.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;Picking materials that actually last&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;We didn&amp;rsquo;t want these things rusting away the second they hit salty sea air or a humid patio. That&amp;rsquo;s why we use corrosion-resistant alloys for the chassis.&#xA;Inside, we shielded the tungsten filaments. This is a big deal. It stops those tiny water droplets from hitting the white-hot element and causing it to crack.&#xA;The result? You aren&amp;rsquo;t spending your weekends driving back to a job site to replace a burnt-out heater. They just stay dry and keep working.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;A couple of things to keep in mind&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;Here&amp;rsquo;s the catch: when you seal something this tightly to keep water out, heat builds up inside the unit more than it would in a cheap, open-frame heater.&#xA;Because of that, you&amp;rsquo;ve got to be careful with your mounting brackets. Don&amp;rsquo;t block the ventilation paths. If you do, the thermal cutoff will trip, and the heater will shut down to protect itself.&#xA;And one last tip: please, use waterproof conduits for your wiring. If you use standard wiring, you&amp;rsquo;re basically leaving a door open for water to get in. It breaks the seal, and suddenly that IP66 protection doesn&amp;rsquo;t mean much anymore. Keep it sealed, and these things will run for years.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
