When most people look at an IP65 bathroom heater, they just see a way to stop shivering while they get dressed. But from where we sit, these things are less about warmth and more about managing the air in your room. It’s not just about pumping out heat. It’s about the kind of heat.
How it actually dries your walls
We use something called short-wave infrared (SWIR). Now, that sounds like a textbook, but here is the simple version: most heaters just warm up the air. SWIR is different. It actually penetrates the moisture sitting on your surfaces. It gets those water molecules on your walls and ceiling moving, which makes them evaporate way faster. Since the water doesn’t have a chance to just sit there and chill, you don’t get that damp, sticky feeling. And since mold needs standing water to survive, it basically has nowhere to live. It’s a quiet, automatic way to keep the room dry.
Keeping things safe (and not melted)
Water and electricity are a nightmare pairing. That’s why we build these to IP65 standards. We use tempered glass and heavy-duty silicone seals to make sure the guts of the machine stay bone-dry, even when your shower is turning the room into a sauna. One quick heads-up on the install: these lamps gethot. Really hot. If you mount them too close to PVC or plastic panels, you’re going to see some warping. Give them at least 300mm of breathing room from anything that could melt or catch fire. Trust me on this one.
Making them last
The beauty of these lamps is that they’re instant. You flip a switch, and boom—warmth. But they do wear out over time as the filament oxidizes. We use quartz glass to slow that process down, but they aren’t immortal. If you leave them running 24/7, you’re just burning through the bulb for no reason. The smartest move? Wire them into a timer or a humidity sensor. That way, they only kick in when the room actually needs it. You get the mold protection, and your bulbs last way longer. It’s a simple fix for those annoying “cold walls,” and it turns a damp, musty bathroom into a place that actually feels fresh.
